History

For 16 years, RCBY has been a family owned and operated business. RCBY has established a history of quality and service, gaining a reputation for honesty and fairness with all segments of the Chatham community.

A process of continuous expansion and improvement has been in place from the beginning.

1993 - Purchased by Leo Cohen, managed by son Alan.

1993 - Replaced waterfront bulkhead

1994 - Replaced all moorings

1995 - Dirt lot was upgraded to “Bluestone”

1996 - New Gas Dock was installed:West mooring field opened

1997 - Alan purchased RCBY from his father. Limited valet in/out rack storage was begun and a new septic system was installed

2002 - Master plan developed to re-organize the layout of the Boatyard and add a second location

2003 - Purchased land in Commerce Park for future Service Center

2007 - New Service Center was constructed and opened at 298 Commerce Park, South Chatham

2008 - Two storage and repair buildings were razed. The entire Marina yard was reconfigured. This added capacity for 80 in/out valet rack stored boats.

2009-2010 - Rack Space for boats has been refined and re-positioned for improved efficiency and quicker launch of rack boats.

Exterior improvements to the appearance of the Marina Office/Store. Refreshed and re-graded customer parking lot.

Our service facility in Commerce Park has re-worked rack storage with additional space for increased efficiency. In addition, boats formerly stored for the winter in a remote location have been positioned adjacent to the service building for better access.

2010-2011    Planning continues to develop for a new Marina Building in the best possible on-site location for operations and customer service.

2011 The final step: planned construction of a new office/ship’s store building
